The NNT (number needed to treat) is a great resource for EBM.

From the NNT site:

Quick summaries of evidence-based medicine!

We are a group of physicians that have developed a framework and rating system to evaluate therapies based on their patient-important benefits and harms as well as a system to evaluate diagnostics by patient sign, symptom, lab test or study. We only use the highest quality, evidence-based studies (frequently, but not always Cochrane Reviews), and we accept no outside funding or advertisements.

The NNT has a helpful grading system and rigorous standards that make it a lot clearer to discern actual patient benefits and harms.
better yet, as someone starting out in EBM or new to the #FOAM world (like myself), the NNT is a hugely useful resource for understanding how clinical trials work and how to properly interpret their results.
so go have a quick look at the NNT!

Dr. David Newman is an author on the site and colleague of Scott Weingart (EMCRIT)recently published this review of ACLS medications in Cardiac Arrest,  Check it out!
